The aim of the custom sector in Caritas Albania is to easy the Custom procedures, for all the relief items that enter Albania in the name of Caritas Albania. These Items are all fated by their foreigner collaborators to the Catholic Missions in Albania. This office is managed by two employees, one of them is in charge for the documentation side, while the other is an assistant at the Harbour of Durres, where he receives the good and delivers them to the destination.

The functioning of this sector:

1. It keeps continuous contact with the office of the Administrative Assistant, for the receiving of the documents (see the list of the documents). Also it compiles the documents in accordance with the Albanian law.
2. It gives the right instructions to the sender, according to the criteria that are requested.
3. It asks the authorizations from the Heads of the Dioceses, to begin the procedures.
4. It requires the authorization of the Directory (the request for the Regional Custom Directory) for each completed request.
5. According to the relief that comes as a donation, he contacts with the respective Ministries, in order that they give special authorizations for special materials.
6. He represents the completed documentation to the Custom Directorate, and then he draws the respective Authorizations, and sends them to the appropriate Customs, where the goods enter.
7. The technician keeps contacts with the Custom Agency, “Express-Albania”, which makes it easy for Caritas Albania to deal with the Custom Procedures.
8. He registers all the Requests accompanied by the other documents in a data-base program.
9. He gives information to the Caritas Directorate and informs for any eventual problem.
10. The assistant has his duty to assist every entrance of the humanitarian relief in the Harbour of Durres that is fated to Caritas Albania.
11. He reports regularly about the number of entrances, about the arrival of the goods, the problems, the instructions that are issued by the portal Authorities etc.
