History seems to be repeated. Shkodra residents are still living the “terror” of flooding, as weather seems not to be their “ally”.

Exactly the moment when they returned to their homes, it seems that disaster is hitting again.
Economy Minister in a Press Conference said that, the situation is towards deterioration and because of that the government is forced to open the gates of hydropower again, to avoid a catastrophe.

Therefore, people should be prepared as will be flooding.

Gates of the two hydropower stations, respectively (Koman and Vau Dejes), are opened, but are expected to be opened even the gates of Fierza, as the heavy rains have increased their level in almost maximum quotas.
From the contacts with our collaborators in Dajc and Velipoje, we are informed that in some villages of these areas the water has entered the houses of residents, and roads are also covered by water. Some residents of these areas are evacuated.


Caritas Albania continues to provide its assistance, as it has done during the critical situation of January.
Very soon we will send there food aid and clothes for these people, and will provide shelter for them.
